J. Bonfiglio is a

Mr. Bonfiglio is admitted to practice in the state courts of New York and New Jersey, as well as in the United States Tax Court, and the the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of New York and the District of New Jersey. Mr. Bonfiglio is also a member of the New York and New Jersey State Bar Associations, the American Bar Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the New York Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Bonfiglio established his accounting firm and law practice in 1989, after gaining substantial legal experience as a tax attorney for the “big 6” accounting firm Arthur Anderson & Co., and as tax counsel to Sony USA. Mr. Bonfiglio counsels a broad range of clients on an array of legal and tax matters, including drafting trusts, wills, living wills, health care proxies and powers of attorney. He prepares estate and income tax returns and represents clients before Federal and State tax authorities as well as the United States Tax Court and the Surrogates’ Court. He provides counsel and representation to a wide variety of business clients in corporate and commercial transactions, and serves the needs of his clients on a full range of real property transactions including private and commercial real estate sales, financing and leases. He also represents major banks and individual borrowers in connection with commercial and real estate financing transactions. Mr. Bonfiglio’s knowledge and experience serve our clients well when they need not just a lawyer, but also a trusted advisor who can find comprehensive solutions to complex problems and provide peace of mind.
Joseph J. Asterita
Mr. Asterita is an attorney admitted to practice law in the state courts of New York and New Jersey, as well as in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey. Mr. Asterita focuses on providing clients with his expertise in three primary practice areas; Business Law; Estate Planning and Settlement; and Real Estate.
As an experienced business attorney, Mr. Asterita serves as a trusted advisor to a wide variety of clients ranging in type from individual entrepreneurs, restaurants and contractors, to public relations, media and information technology firms. He effectively handles their business formation and structuring needs, as well as handling commercial contracts, leases, business purchases and sales, and has handled and resolved numerous shareholder disputes and commercial litigation matters for his diverse clientele.
Mr. Asterita also provides wealth preservation services through his estate planning expertise, which includes the preparation of wills and trusts and the skillful incorporation of these instruments into comprehensive estate plans. He has written several articles on the subject (available on the firm’s home page) and further provides representation to clients who have an interest in the settlement of an estate, whether by way of probate or administration, as well as handling estate litigation matters involving various disputes including distribution of an estate’s assets, enforcement of a spouse or child’s right to inheritance, enforcing or defending creditor’s claims, or involving the failure of an executor or administrator to properly carry out their fiduciary duties.
Finally, Mr. Asterita provides excellent representation to his individual and corporate clients in various real estate matters, including residential and commercial purchase and sales, refinances and leases. He has successfully handled numerous related real estate litigation matters and disputes ranging from the enforcement of easements and property lines to the partition and sale of residential and commercial properties. Mr. Asterita further supervises the firm’s mortgage loan closing department and represents over a dozen mortgage lenders in connection with the closing of mortgage loans, whether in connection with a purchase or refinance, and even reverse mortgages. Mr. Asterita is experienced in closing refinances that incorporate a CEMA designed to help borrowers avoid the costs of the substantial mortgage recording tax in New York, especially involving properties throughout the five boroughs of New York City where the mortgage recording tax is especially high.
Mr. Asterita earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs at The George Washington University and his Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School. While in Brooklyn Law School Mr. Asterita studied abroad at the University of Bologna, Italy, where he focused on Business Law. He is a member of the New York and New Jersey State Bar Associations, the American Bar Association, the Richmond County Bar Association and the Richmond County Chamber of Commerce.
Kevin Denaro
Kevin Denaro is an attorney admitted to practice law in the state courts of New York and New Jersey, as well as the United States District Court of New Jersey. He anticipates admission into the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York in 2011.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, Magna Cum Laude, from New York University, and his Juris Doctor Degree, Cum Laude, from Brooklyn Law School, where he graduated in the top 14% of his class. In 2010 Mr. Denaro joined the firm of Bonfiglio & Asterita, LLC as an associate attorney where he currently represents lenders and title companies in mortgage loan closings for the refinance and purchase of residential real estate. He also represents clients in various commercial litigation and business matters, defends foreclosures of residential real estate, and further provides loan modification services. Mr. Denaro is also experienced in divorce and other family law matters as well as handling probate, administration and guardianship matters as well
Mr. Denaro is a member of the New York and New Jersey State Bar Associations and the American Bar Association.
Markella Sideridis
Markella Sideridis joined the firm of Bonfiglio & Asterita, LLC in April of 2005, and coordinates all mortgage loan closings in New York and New Jersey for the firm’s mortgage loan clientele. In addition, Ms. Sideridis also oversees all post closing operations, including recording of legal instruments for our clients.
Prior to joining the firm Ms. Sideridis worked for other New York City area law firms, title companies, and has over 7 year’s experience as a senior underwriter with major lenders in the New York City area. She is well versed in the 2010 RESPA and HUD changes which together with her experience and vast network of lender contacts provides her with an insider’s view to the mortgage loan industry, including Secondary Market and title clearance requirements, mortgage underwriting guidelines, and obtaining and preparing NY CEMA’s and subordinations, all of which is available to the firm’s mortgage lending clients to assist them in providing their borrowers with exceptional service and clearing their loan files to close smoothly, quickly and without unnecessary delay.
Ms. Sideridis attended St. Joseph’s College and Brooklyn College where she received her Real Estate Paralegal Certification in 2003 and her Wills and Estates Paralegal Certification in 2006. She is also a Notary in the State of New York and New Jersey.

Gregg Mark
Mr. Mark practices in many areas of accounting servicing both individual and business clients. His practice areas include income tax planning and filing, and represents clients in audits conducted by various governmental agencies, as well as providing bookkeeping, payroll, and general accounting services to his business clients.
Mr. Mark earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from The City University of New York and began his accounting career at the firm of Mahoney Cohen in New York City. In 1995 Mr. Mark joined Thomas J. Bonfiglio as a partner in the accounting practice now known as Bonfiglio Group, LLC.

Anthony V. Lotito, III
Mr. Lotito joined the accounting firm of Bonfiglio Group, LLC in 2008 as a junior accountant. He presently handles and assists the firm’s partners with personal and corporate income tax planning and preparation, prepares sales tax returns and provides payroll and bookkeeping services to the firm’s clients. Prior to joining the firm Mr. Lotito was employed with New York Life where he provided financial services and where he became intimately familiar with insurance and products. He continues to hold licensing in New York and New Jersey to provide financial services and annuities and applies his insurance and financial services background and expertise to now effectively service the firm’s accounting clients. Mr. Lotito earned his Associates Degree in Business Administration from Brookdale Community College in 2007 and is presently enrolled in Ashworth College where he expects to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 2011. He is an active member of the Italian American Association of New Jersey and the Monmouth County Young Professionals Group.
